Tropical Explosion Smoothie

Hello blogging world! I feel like it’s been a while since we last talked! ;)

I actually have a valid excuse though! Between graduating high school (PRAISE JESUS) and then just getting back from a cruise, I’ve just had a bit too much on my plate!

I had a wonderful time on my cruise though! We went through Royal Caribbean and took the Allure of the Seas (anyone else been on that boat? It’s AMAZING!) and now I feel very inspired with lots of new ideas for recipes and what not. :)

So being that I just got back from the Caribbean, I felt it fitting to blog about one of my favorite smoothie recipes: The Tropical Explosion Smoothie!!!

I love eating mangoes and pineapple in the summer so I feel like I could have one of these everyday. It transports me back to the Caribbean…

Sigh…

I think it’s really perfect for breakfast because all the vitamin C is what I need to make myself function in the mornings!

What can I say? I get lazy in the summer…

Besides all the benefits from the fresh fruit, the smoothie also has a good amount of protein because of the Greek yogurt! I love adding Greek yogurt to my smoothies because it is full of protein and works as a better thickening agent than normal yogurt. That means you can add less ice!

Tropical Explosion Smoothie

serves 1

1 mango, peeled and chopped (how to cut a mango)

1/4 cup mango flavored Greek yogurt (I love Chobani)

1/4 of a pineapple, chopped and frozen (how to cut a pineapple)

1 peeled banana, frozen

1/2 cup orange juice

ice if needed

1. In a blender, blend the frozen pineapple, frozen banana, the chopped mango, the Greek yogurt, and orange juice. If the smoothie is not thick enough for your taste, add some ice or more yogurt and blend.
