Pizza Wrap

Most of my regular readers will know by now that I have many weakness with food.

Examples:

  • Pasta
  • Doritos
  • Peanut Butter
  • Dark Chocolate
  • Doritos
  • Fried Chicken
  • Brussel Sprouts
  • Doritos (Did I mention that?)
  • Pizza

Speaking of Doritos (on a completely unrelated note), have any of y’all ever tried nacho cheese Doritos with creamy peanut butter? I tried it randomly yesterday because I was bored and it is DELISH. Weird stuff man.

Anywho, I made these pizza wraps last time I was home because I’m addicted to pizza and I saw this on Pinterest to make a healthier alternative to a slice of pizza. Super awesome! I love these! You fill them up with whatever toppings you like; I choose tomato sauce, cheese, chicken, salami, bacon, spinach, and fresh tomato (basically whatever I could find in the fridge) and throw it in a panini press! Definitely making these on a regular basis because they totally curb my craving for a greasy slice of pizza!

Try it out and let me know what fillings you tried out! :)

Pizza Wrap

barely adapted from Menu Musings of a Modern American Mom

serves 1

1 tortilla (I used flour but I would have used whole wheat if I had it)

1 tablespoon tomato sauce

1/4 cup italian cheese blend

1/4 cup grilled chicken, chopped

1 slice of deli salami, chopped

1 tablespoon of crumbled bacon

1/4 cup of baby spinach

1/4 cup of chopped tomato

1 teaspoon dried basil

1 tablespoon olive oil

1. Allow a panini press to heat up.

2. Lay the flour tortilla out and spread the tomato sauce in the middle. Don’t spread it out very far!

3. Pile on the other toppings, keeping everything in the center.

4. Fold the sides of the tortilla over first, then starting at the edge closest to you, roll up the tortilla, making sure to contain all the toppings.

5. Brush the seam-side of the wrap with some of the olive oil and lay it down on the panini press. Then brush the other side with olive oil and close the panini press. Let cook for 3 minutes, flip the wrap and cook for another 3 minutes.

♠You could try making this gluten-free by maybe trying a corn tortilla or some kind of gluten-free wrap
